GymTote: Review

When I saw GymTote’s concept I was totes excited ;). I already own a few run of the mill gym bags but nothing like this. So what is the Gym Tote? The GymTote is a gym bag that looks like a handbag meaning it is versatile and appropriate for smarter occasions. One of the plus sides of having two bags in one is that you can hit the gym or swimming pool without the extra baggage.

I chose the Sophia bag in Saffiano black because the design is simple, timeless and understated as I prefer the minimal look. The exterior is black with gold hardware which looks smart and stylish. The size is perfect; it’s large enough to fit gym stuff in without entering weekend-bag territory.

The main feature that I like is the trainers and gym kit compartment which has a breathable lining that is easy to clean and appropriate for wet and dry clothes, an added plus as I am a keen swimmer. This is always good because shoes are just really awkward to store and you could use this for an extra pair of heels instead if need be.

Other features of the bag include several zip compartments, other than the separate base compartment and the deeper side pocket for documents. If you are into yoga or Pilates the section beneath the bag has been created just to store a mat. With this tote taking on the role of two bags you would expect this to be uncomfortable and heavy but the padded handles help to ensure that the bag is exceptionally comfortable to carry around.

The GymTote is really great if you have several engagements in one day including a workout and still want to dress up a little. It is really practical for work and looks stylish. One thing to consider  is it is priced quite high at £120 but for a unique bag it’s all relative to what you are willing to pay. I would have preferred the material to be leather but I think that the Polyurethane looks smart and is practical anyway.

If you are looking for a versatile work appropriate bag and you attend the gym often I would recommend the GymTote for you. Another option if you aren't a gym bunny is to store your meal preps in the lower compartment.
